An Indian employee has shared a post that has become the latest education news and ignited a huge debate around the modern workplace environment. The employee, in one of the posts on Reddit, made a confession: “I want to resign. My job is taking my life.”

The post portrays a phase of life that follows a pattern of long working hours and a four-hour commute through traffic jams. Although he or she gets a fixed paycheck and is considered to be one of the top talents, the person confessed that he or she is now only doing the bare minimum to get by. They wrote that they have no time to spend with their family, no time to pursue hobbies, and no time to exercise. It has been soul-crushing indeed.

This resolution requires a radical change in the evaluation of work. It involves the need to set strict digital boundaries, honor leave, and forget the idea that being really busy means being really valuable. Without these reforms, India will be losing the best talent available to a reign of fatigue which is likely to fade no sooner.
