Police arrested the 41-year old culprit in Hayatpur on the next day of the incident, Monday. This disturbing event took place near a Swiggy store in Hayatpur village, which is close to Gurgaon Sector 93. The accused identifies as Naveen Yadav, age 41. By profession, he is an Ayurveda Practitioner working at a leading healthcare facility in Daulatabad. The government has seized his SUV, a Mahindra Scorpio.

CCTV had captured this incident. As seen in the clip, many Swiggy riders were standing and waiting at a roadside in Sector 93. A Scorpio of black colour comes and quickly flees after hitting a parked bike. The car appears again and rushes towards the deliverymen standing by. One of them got injured, who was later identified as Tinku. As per the police, Tinku, aged 43, is a resident of Rewari in Haryana. His bike was parked outside the Swiggy store.

A Murderous Attack in Hayatpur

A 41-year-old Ayurvedic doctor employed by the government has been arrested in Gurugram after a cruel experience of road rage, where he is accused of using his SUV to run over a Swiggy delivery partner several times. The event, happening later in the night of Sunday, 18 January 2026, was captured by clear CCTV footage, since becoming viral and generated a lot of outrage in the country.

The victim, a member of 43 years old of Rewari district, was lying with his motorcycle parked in front of a Swiggy warehouse at Hayatpur village at around 10.30 PM. He was hit by a black Scorpio SUV that was supposed to have a siren without any notice.

Repeatedly Targeted in a Fit of Rage

The video of the situation is especially shocking. It shows the SUV driver hitting Tinku, and instead of arresting or driving off, he reversed and drove over him. As it was reported by the police and eyewitnesses, the driver hit the delivery partner three to four times.

The accused is a medical practitioner by the name Naveen, who is a BAMS graduate and is posted in a Primary Health Centre in Daulatabad. In his interrogation, Naveen allegedly told the police that he had a grudge against delivery riders. He alleged that they often parked their bikes in a tight road passing in front of his house in Bhagat Singh Colony, thus affecting the flow of his car. On Sunday night, he allegedly found Tinku and assaulted him in a state of rage.

Victim Critically Injured; Protests Erupt

Tinku was first admitted to a government hospital located in Sector 10, Gurugram, but because of his injuries, such as several fractures and mental trauma, he was later transferred to a medical center in Rewari, which is privately owned. He is still in a critical condition.

Monday morning saw massive protests due to the brutality of the act. Hundreds of Swiggy delivery partners were at the Sector 93 police post, and they wanted the arrest of the doctor at once. The demonstrators were not ready to leave until they got a formal commitment that the suspect would undergo tough legal prosecution. A police group caught Naveen on Monday evening and arrested him, and seized the black Scorpio that was parked at his house. He was accused of Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

When Tinku is struggling to survive, the whole community is left to consider how a medical practitioner who is expected to save lives can leave a trivial issue to end in a very violent and bloody result.
