Meta H-1B Salary Analysis: New Data Reveals Engineering Pay Scales Up to $650K

• Leadership and Management: The greatest numbers in the H-1B data were employed in management, where the Vice President of AI was recorded with a base salary of $650,000.

The 2025 data highlights a huge trend: the AI talent war. According to Meta, the non-executive research positions are offered base salaries of $400,000+, suggesting that it is starting to poach and retain the top researchers in the world at other companies, such as Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. 

The AI-oriented jobs in Meta are typically accompanied by even better total packages than the conventional software jobs. Some top AI researchers are getting compensation in the seven-figure range, including sign-on bonuses and equity, industry reports indicate. This bold expenditure is considered necessary to help Meta sustain its advantage in creating Llama models and its Meta AI ecosystem.
