Samsung Unveils Galaxy S26 Series in India: A New Era of Proactive AI
Tech News Today: India Samsung has officially released its Galaxy S26 series in India, the third generation of its AI-oriented flagship smartphones. It was launched during a special event in San Francisco and also exhibited at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2026) in Barcelona. The new series includes the Galaxy S26, the S26 +, and the luxurious S26 Ultra. The series focuses on agentic AI, or technology that works silently behind the scenes to foresee the needs of users instead of having to be prompted to perform a specific task.

Smarter Performance and Thermal Management
The Galaxy S26 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform of Galaxy, a modified chipset that is specifically designed to support high workload AI. It provides 19 percent more CPU power and a 39 percent higher NPU power than its predecessor. In order to overcome the heat produced by such processes, Samsung has unveiled a redesigned vaporchamber cooling system. Indian models of the S26 and S26+ models have the Exynos 2600 processor.
One of the additions that the S26Ultra has made is a Privacy Display built in. This hardware capability is a limitation that limits the range of view of the screen to ensure that the onlookers cannot tell sensitive information, and the user can still view the screen clearly.
Camera Upgrades and Generative Editing
The camera installations have been further improved in terms of hardware and software. The Ultra model has a 200MP main sensor but with wider apertures to gather 47 percent more light, which significantly improves low-light photography. Another artificial intelligence (AI) Image Signal Processor (ISP) has been developed, moving to the front-facing camera and giving you a more realistic skin color and finer detail on selfies.
On the computer front, the Photo Assist package allows users to manipulate images using natural language commands. As an example, a user can explain what they want to see, like the removal of the stain in the shirt or the addition of a sunset, and the AI implements the work. Another standard that is introduced by the series is the APV (Advanced Professional Video) standard, which allows the production of high-quality video with lossless quality at the editing stage.

Enhanced AI Ecosystem
Samsung is developing a more dynamic software experience, including such features like Now Nudge and Now Brief. Now Nudge examines the situation within a conversation; when a friend asks about what to do at dinner, the smartphone reads the calendar and proposes a suitable response. Now Brief has given a situational overview of reminders, ticket booking, and routine.
Moreover, Samsung has improved its collaboration with Google on the feature of the “Circle to Search that can now be used to search multiple elements in a single image. The firm has even embedded AI assistants, consisting of Gemini and Perplexity, into the user interface to deal with more complex, multi-step activities.
